Home move but can’t go EE to EE

Contacted the home move team to get the order in place ready for the big day. Have been told my existing EE contract can’t be moved to the new address so I need to move to BT BB then back to EE once setup (alongside a new 24 month contract!)

Has anyone else had this situation? They’re even sending out BT equipment which I can use or send back. I have a Smart Hub Pro and extender so will obviously be keeping these! Just seems like a bizarre sequence of events. Not sure if it’s worth cancelling the home move and reordering with another team member?

OIC! As your buyer has already put in an order on your existing addy, your contract will be force cancelled, preventing you doing a normal BB Home Move under that contract. EE are getting round that by taking you to BT instead.

What is the name of the existing EE BB plan you are on including its speed?

What does BT Wholesale Broadband Availability Checker > Address Checker estimate for your new address? Post the whole table, the text below it and the line above it, blanking out your address.

If EE can't supply you with BB at your new addy, then neither can BT. They both supply from the same infrastructure, OR's.

Hi, I’m currently on Full Fibre Gigabit Essentials.

The home move team have done a like for like order inc TV and 900Mb bb (which is available at the new address), but it’ll be through BT. Very confusing. Seems to a backend issue that has meant it’s playing out this way. The call handler said it was because my buyer has put a takeover request in already. If cancelling that will allow my account to port without an issue, I’ll do that instead.

Ah ok. I’ll call them tomorrow and get them to cancel the takeover and current home move order then get my normal home move in. Cheeky buyer!
