It should do if you have Home Phone with your BB package. What EE BB plan do you have?

I have Broadband with Landline

Is it a digital landline or copper?

I believe it’s a copper line as it uses my original connection from the telegraph pole.

However, my plan is now with New EE and all communication is through the Internet.

Is the BB working, maybe slower than usual? What is the name of your BB plan?

Locate the hidden test socket that is revealed when you remove the bottom half of the split faceplate (2 screws or press tabs) of your master socket. Only do this if you have a split faceplate. Do you have any extension sockets in the home even if unused? Are there any wires connected to back of faceplate of master socket?

Plug the phone into the test socket. Are you getting a dial tone now?

One of my phones is plugged directly into the Smart Hub Plus and another is plugged into an Adapter. I get a dialling tone from each of them.

But what I want to know is whether I can get a dialling tone from my new X42_XX_HE0.2 Handset!

What is that? Is it a DECT handset? If it is, you would be better plugging it's base station into the socket on the smart hub (a simple splitter will allow it along with your other phone) and then the handset should connect to the base station. If the smart hub is like the BT DV one, it'll be using it's own version of DECT, which is why I don't suggest trying to pair the handset with the smart hub itself.

I’ve no idea. That was the Firmware version of the handset which was supplied by EE. I couldn’t find its Model Number.

You don't have a copper landline; you have digital! You can forget what I asked you about the master phone socket.

You won't get a dial tone from the phone socket; only from the router or the digital phone adapter.
