I have just had full fibre installed at 1GB and guaranteed 700MB. EE sent me the Black smart hub pro and 3 x wifi routers. The best wifi signal ive got on smart phones, ipads, laptops, xbox, etc is 40MB,Ethernet to the hub is 800 plus...

Ive turned off the 2.4g. EE lady on the phone cant see any of the extenders online so i think they are banjaxed 😉

The SH Pro is white. The SH Plus is black. Which is it you have?

Ive now been on the phone for over 2 hours to EE, they can see the extenders SW30A will not connect to the Black Smart Hub Plus

The smart hub plus is working fine, EE now want me to Pay £50 for a call out fee ha ha

The SW30A simply wont connect, the older SW10A we had worked fine with our copper Smart Hub, we had full wifi connectivity throughout the house (and garden) albeit at the max 36MB connection

Why didnt they send me the new smart hub pros?

To expect me to pay £50 for an engineer to fix their problem is ridiculous, my bill has gone up from £35 a month to £55 for fibre wifi that isnt working....arggghhhhh

@Wayneold The previous combination off the EE Smarthub (2023) and the SW10A will still work fine on the EE FF service, you can put those two devices back on.

The SW30A, what method did you use to try and connect, the wireless wps button, or connecting by ethernet cable from the link above.

You will only get the Pro router and extender if you pay the extra addon charge off £10/month depending on the EE package that you bought.

As you managed to get 800mb/s ethernet cable connected to the router then speed is there, you only have to sort out the wireless side. That may be down to a few factors.

Hi Jim,

I have connected the 30A via WPS (like i did on my last set up) then moved the extenders and they just disconnect. I then paired them using Ethernet, still disconnected, then paired them via my laptop and EE router homepage and they disconnect.

Maybe ive just got a dodgy batch of the extenders, none of them are working

They can be sat next to the router and they still disconnect 😞 Im happy to upgrade to the 'best' package they offer me, and thats the Full Works Full Gigabit im on now, ive requested for Wifi 7 plus which should come later next week.

@Wayneold Do they even show up on the Advanced wireless extender page when you connect the laptop and have a look at them, also on the EE Smarthub+ router did it update to the latest FW as indicated in the Status page, and also did the extenders indicate that they had also updated the FW. Latest is below.

FW: r2.68.18-R-1303195-PROD-83002 and the gui is at App version 2.36.4. 11/02/2025

Firmware is showing as r2.68.18-R-1303195-PROD-83002, so up to date and 2.36.4

ive factory reset everything, re-tried connecting the extenders, and nothing stays connected, i give up 🙂

Thanks for the help though!

@Wayneold You can either just go with the latest EE Smarthub+ Router only and not have as much coverage with the fact that the Extenders will not play ball, or go back to your older combination that was working, both are options for you and both will work on the EE FF service. Let's hope that if EE give you the Pro option that you do not run in to the same.

It has been reported that the Smart Wireless Extenders are slow to do the updates, and some user's have left connected to the Router by Ethernet connection over night then they start to work fine. Do not use any so really cannot comment operational wise, but would be worth a look on the Advanced Wireless page/ Extenders to see what it thinks on the Web Manager side off things.

Three out off three not working is a really not good factor, especially when you say they look good until you disconnect and move to location where you wish them to be. As you have the previous one then you have plenty experience of how that worked.

Great thought regarding extenders updating  🙂

Im going to connect them via ethernet to the router and leave them to see if they update, leave them 24 hours or so

one last shot....
