Following a recent firmware update, some Smart Hub Plus customers may find that certain WiFi devices or WiFi extenders have trouble connecting.
Our engineers have identified the cause of the problem and are now rolling out a fix to affected Smart Hubs.
If your wireless devices aren't connecting and you have a Smart Hub Plus, setting the 2.4 GHz channel can resolve the issue.
If you have devices that will not connect, please try reconnecting using Compatible WiFi.
We are working as fast as possible to fix this issue, but in the meantime, some of our customers have found the following steps help:
You can find all the latest updates on this issue in Fix problems connecting devices to your Smart Hub Plus or Smart Hub 3's WiFi | Broadband Help | EE

@JimM11 If I need to do a Factory Reset after a Firmware 'Update', then there is something very wrong with the whole Hardware-meets-Firmware interface.
I've never had to do a 'Factory Reset' after a Firmware Update before.
And these phenomena started some four weeks after the Firmware Update installation (16/06 - 15/07/26) - which is very odd...
Besides which, how do I Factory Reset the EE App on my Android Phone...?
LOL!
No, I'm not going to do any Factory Resets, or Power-Cycles, or anything.
My Ethernet and Wireless Devices are successfully connecting to my LAN - and WAN where appropriate.
It's just the HMI side of things which is now totally unreliable.
So I'm just going to keep monitoring the situation until such time as it either falls-over all by itself, or another Firmware Upgrade gets rolled-out.

@Gelert5 Got you, it's just the Factory Reset is one off those, been doing this 45+ Years reset a Sky hub once in the whole off my life, just could not get past Sky customer service it HAD TO BE Done, was a Sky Mesh box issue, never resolved one single thing but listen to me not was the sky response so did it, called them back he looked seen it was done and then i said go on then fix it, you know what happened after that, waste off time, it is what it is when you are up against it!
It's going to take an actual EE Network Engineer to look into your Hub, pull off what is needed and workout were it's all gone wrong, they can do it but it's a question off do they want to, they may already be aware, that's why @James_B was copied as a tag.

@Gelert5 Posted pics cleared now, it would appear to just be a mess, so well worth leaving it all alone whilst it's working, see there was an updated app posted will go grab and attach. From the other post earlier today.
No idea what and if google is correct as the app developers sometimes do not get the updated versions on it but currently this is what it say's on the google Android store, not sure if the IOS version is the same.

@JimM11 Yup - that's the version of the EE App that I currently have installed.
I've turned-off Auto-Update for this EE App on the Google Play Store as mentioned previously, because it is possible that the EE App Update caused my SH31B Hub to misbehave in the first place on or about 14th July ...?
By having to manually 'approve' this App Update, at least I can check the Hub Status before and after any App updates.
*EDIT* Google Play Store has this EE App as being updated 7th July 2026, but it didn't come down the pipe to me until a few days after that date.

I have tried the above and over 5 hours of web chat, i have gone back to my old router.
Still using a cable to get internet one room away.

@Josaunders You have tried what exactly the app, the hub, the fw updates etc etc?

EE did its background bits. With the hub 7 and extender I.had no internet for parts of the day. On the hub 6 the wifi isnt great but i have never lost connection. EE network isnt great in my area, i have one bar on my phone so I had to use my vodafone sim to even do the web chat.

@Josaunders Think i have kind of got what you are saying, New EE Smart Hub 7, either the Pro or the Plus version you do not say with it's smart wireless extender to match, all in the toilet currently not working is that a correct statement?
You obviously have the EE Smart Hub 6 Plus version as well but why is the wifi not great on that one, should be with no issues especially if you are near it for speed checking. Is it having a problem as well but semi working?
Take it you are relying on the wireless wifi calling function of the EE Hub to support your EE Mobile poor signal, been there done that and have the proof it does work, if not had two bricks for mobile phones, for me O2 was the decent mobile signal so back with them currently, EE mobile at Home just did not work my location no matter what the stupid mobile service checker estimated as it was ALL WRONG.

@JimM11 Further evidence that the HMI side of things (Hub and App) is displaying total baloney.
This is a screen grab today of my Mobile Phone connected to my SH31B (32) WIRELESSLY...
And yet the Wireless Status of my Hub is still as it was in those photos I've previously uploaded to here i.e. still RED...
For fruit's sake... 🙄
