Hello,
I am trying to find out about how to get a stronger Wi-Fi connection in my house. I live on the ground floor of a three story house with thick stone walls that limit the Wi-Fi signal massively.
The EE-Hub router is on the floor above in a separate property (landlord) and currently I use a Wi-Fi Extender to try and get the connection in my flat. The connection is really poor and more often than not says 'connected with no internet'.
I have been looking at other posts where people have been asking about installing a second router but most of the answers suggest a WAN/extender. This has not worked for me and I am trying to find a solution that can provide me with a consistent and strong connection. A router would be ideal because then I could connect for ethernet and not have to rely on the weak/inconsistent Wi-Fi.
Would anyone please be able to assist on how to go about getting a second router and if it would work to fix my issue.

@Tally78Road ? is there any current connection from the EE Router location to your flat apart from you trying to get the wireless signal from the router. Which make/model of extender do you have currently and were in relationship do you think that it is with regards to the router position, ie directly under it, plus 20' etc, and have you tried to move the location of your extender to get a better signal from the router?

Which EE router & which EE Wi-Fi Extender have you?

An EE Smart Hub and a Wi-Fi Repeater, previous tenant set it up not sure the type.

Read the labels on them or post their images.

The EE Smart Hub router has no connections into the house. The original signal reaches weakly into one room directly below it. The Wireless N Repeater is currently down one floor and across by maybe 20ft to extend into the study/lounge. The signal strength is not so much the issue as the internet connection - there is most often a strong connection with no internet access.

Hi @Tally78Road
Connected but no internet means your network is not set up correctly.
Your best option is to have a line connected to your flat if this is a separate address, that way you can have your own supplier. It could also be your landlord limiting access.
Thanks

@Tally78Road The internet connection DEPENDS on the signal strength of your extender to the router, that was why i asked if you had tried moving it and probably directly under the router would be its best position. You will always get a great signal strength from the booster when you are close to it, but it may not reach the router in the other flat from your study/lounge!
Model of your extender will be printed on a label at the underside of it, flip it up and post what you read, or take a picture and post, either will do...

@Northerner I don't know if that would work as the property is not considered separate addresses, but I appreciate the suggestion.
