Hi, have just moved to EE from BT and received the SH403 Smart Hub Pro router. Wifi all good. I have a desktop PC with a 2.5Gbps port and swapped the cable from my old BT SH2 router into the new SH403, and internet over the ethernet to my PC doesn't work. After an unproductive 4 hours online to an EE person, we decided to swap the router for a new one. It arrived today and it's exactly the same as the first one. No internet over the connection *or* connection to Google sites only....... I say "or" because, if you play with disabling/reenabling the PC's ethernet controller, *sometimes* it starts working with Google sites only and very occasionally, at full connectivity.
This afternoon, I spoke with my PC's tech support and they checked the driver version on the network card, which was out of date by 3 years. Thought that would fix it, but it didn't....
If I plug my old BT router back in, it all works fine again...
Anyone, any ideas please? ☹️

True, but so was the BT Smart Hub, which I've plugged back in and everything works fine. At around 930 instead of 1.6 though of course.

Hi Steveoliver,
As a person with limited tech knowledge, but based on my tests and a number of posts here, I have a Tp-Link 5 port Gigabit 5-port powered splitter plugged into the SuperHub Plus on a short lead and this either "boosts the power" "conditions the output" or does some other magic techno-negotiating thing and two PCs on the end of Cat5e and Cat6 Ethernet cables supplied from said splitter now work fine to the Internet. This set-up previously also worked fine plugged directly into BT Business Hub. NeVeTaS seems to have had similar experience.
However Sky Q box users like me find that whatever Ethernet output the Super Hub Plus generates, it irregularly crashes the box requiring reboot and the answer is using WiFi instead.
A poster has sagely said "it is what it is" and EE SuperHub Plus's Ethernet output definitely is - it looks like it and smells like it, the model number starts with same letters and it even sticks to a blanket like it! Offloading blame onto the user's cabling, PC network card, sending out new boxes etc etc is standard operating procedure to kick the can down the road instead of addressing numerous apparent problems associated with the Ethernet output of Plus/Pro.
All the best

I have all 4 ports on my hub pro linked up and even thou all devices work, in the web setup page of the router it only shows port 4 as being connected.
Also cant get DDNS to connected to noip so use my NAS app to do it.
The ee app cant setup the wifi control either.
On my second pro router now as well.
Currently thinking of getting another Asus router as I never had issues with that and they can have this pro back saving me £10 a month.

@mccltd-1 - what problems are you having with NoIP? I've been able to configure the service using a Pro. From memory, there were some oddities with the status display (got stuck on 'connecting') but checking the NoIP Control panel, I could see that the host name was getting updated.
Interesting observations on the Ethernet front. One potential difference between hub and third party switch might be the lack of 10mbps half duplex on the hub as stated at the bottom of the page here.
For those having problems, I wonder if trying to fix the negotiation speed in the network card properties or disabling power saving/EEE has any positive impact? 🤔
Goes without saying, but also worth ensuring network adapter drivers are all up to date.

Hi Steve
Hope this helps, like yourself I have just changed from BT Hub to EE Hub SH30A and found the Ehernet link was erratic in connection and then using on the internet. I have both online help and 2 visits from EE Broadband engineers. Generally the opinion was the hub was ok and the ethernet port on my Levono all in one PC was the problem. I never had a problem with my BT hub so set off to search youtube videos. This was the one that solved my problem - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-Jm425qe9s.
All I did was disable wfi on the PC on the settings as described on the video changed to the ethernet setting to Private Network. Success! my ethernett speeds are 42 mps against 37 when i measued the WiFi speed.
See if this helps at least it proved that there was nothing wrong with the ethernet port.
