I have set up a Roon server, using a MAC Pro. I am getting an error message concerning my EE broadband's ability to connect the Roon ARC app on my iPhone with the Roon server. This is the screenshot:
The error message is:
{
"ipv4_connectivity": {"status":"NetworkTimeout","status_code":998,"error":""},
"external_ip": {"actual_external_ip":"2.aaa.bbb.ccc","actual_external_ipv6":"null","router_external_ip":"null"},
"natpmp_autoconfig": {"status":"NotFound"},
"upnp_autoconfig": {"server_ip":"192.168.1.254","found_upnp":true,"error":"Did not find UPnP service with WANIPConnection on network"}
}
Any suggestions for fixing this problem? Not too technically challenging language would be greatly appreciated!
Many thanks.
Alan.

You might want to hide the IP.
Can you try a VPN, if that doesn't connect then it narrow down the issue.
You probably want to check/post on the Roon community https://community.roonlabs.com/
Thanks

Many thanks for the reply.
Trying a VPN is beyond my technical ability. Do you know of a clear 'how-to’ explanation that would help in relation to EE broadband?
Again, thank you.

Roon ARC seems to want port 55002 forwarded. Have you done so?

Thank you. Yes, I did try that but it made no difference, I'm afraid. Of course, I'm not sure I got the process right!

Still no luck, I'm afraid, and the problem has got worse. The connection between my Mac Pro and, therefore the Roon server, and the Naim Unity Atom is now dropping out and, most of the time, the Mac cannot connect with the Atom. I've rung Naim who say that the problem is definitely with the broadband. One suggestion is that 'cgNAT' needs to be switched off (don’t ask me, it's something to do with a static IP).
Also, frustratingly, EE doesn’t seem to have a way of seeking direct help with a technical problem as opposed to reporting a fault. How do I get to technical support without sending them off on a wild goose chase checking my lines, etc.
Help!

There is no CGNAT on EE fixed BB.
Post your Port Forwarding rules.

Thank you! That's good to know. Of course, it still leaves me with the problem, but at least rules out one possibility.
i've gone into the hub to find the port forwarding rules and that page is blank (see below). Any advice, much appreciated. I realise this is helping a complete stranger and I'm grateful. Alan.

So you haven't Port Forwarded port 55002. You need to Create a new Port Forwarding rule.

Excellent. Thank you. Where it says 'External ports' and 'Internal ports', do I put 55002 in all four boxes? I did try that a few days ago but the rule would not save. Do you have any suggestions? Many thanks. Alan.
