Engineer Not Needed

I've given up trying to talk to someone about this. I'm posting here in case someone from EE sees it and can correct the situation.

I am a BT customer but I've been transferred over to EE for a better Broadband deal they couldn't offer me under BT as it's only for new customers.

When I was web chatting about the transfer, the BT rep told me they had to schedule an engineer even though one wasn't needed as it was a bug with their system. They told me not to worry as someone would see the engineer isn't needed and would cancel them.

However, I keep getting emails and text messages telling me an engineer is coming, tomorrow, and to ring them if I won't be there.

I have tried ringing numerous times but each time the wait time is too long. I've already wasted over an hour talking to the BT rep to transfer over. I have spent as much time on this as I intend to. If an engineer visits tomorrow they will be disappointed.

My first experience of being an EE customer is not great.
