EE smart wifi disc won't connect to EE 5G smart hub

Hi, We've just received a EE 5G smart hub and EE smart wifi disc. I've set the smart hub up with ease, however the wifi disc just has a solid red light. I've tried connecting via ethernet and WPS and have also tried the factory reset but to no avail. Any ideas please?!

You need to have an EE Smart Router, a fixed BB router, for the EE Smart WiFi Disc to function.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Home Broadband & Home Phone or Option 2 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband

The 5G smart hub is a smart router?

But not with Capital letters. It's the title of a particular router. Also it's called a "Hub" not a "Router".

Apologies, I'm not sure I understand your previous message. We have a 5G smart hub for our broadband as we're remote so it runs on a nanochip. I'm confused why the smart WiFi disc won't connect - are you saying they aren't compatible?

That's what I'm saying!  The EE Smart WiFi Disc is only compatible with a particular model of router, the EE Smart Router. See EE Smart WiFi Disc :

NOTE - You need to have an EE Smart Router for this product to function.

Hi @kskillin!
Welcome to the Community 😊

Like @XRaySpeX mentioned here, the 5G Hubs aren't designed to work with the Smart WiFi extenders; these are intended to work with fixed connections instead.

Peter

They say this smart hub isn't 5g hub it's the upgraded smart hub ??

@kskillin The thread you've jumped on here is around 5G Hubs, which are separate to how our fixed broadband hubs work.

Which model is it you have?
Feel free to pop up a pic if you're not sure 😊
