EE routers and DHCP

Wondering if anyone can assist please.

Since getting Heatmiser smart heating controls a few years ago, which consist of a Heatmiser NeoHub, that connects directly to my EE router with a ethernet cable and a wireless Heatmiser thermostat, I have been facing lots of issues with the smart heating controls.

Heatmiser suspect that the issue is with the EE router and DHCP release times.

This has been the same issue over the years and I have had the exact same issue when connecting the Heatmiser NeoHub with an ethernet cable to the white EE smart hub 2 router and the EE smart hub plus router and the EE smart hub pro router, over the years.

Can anyone comment on the DHCP release time for the routers and have any thoughts if this could indeed be the underlying issue, as Heatmiser support suspect?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Steve

EE have kindly replied in writing, that it is impossible for the router to block the Heatmiser NeoHub device connected to the routers ethernet port.

Hopefully this will help Heatmiser in their fault finding and a permanent solution

Still facing the issue. Tried changing the lease time and also changed to a fixed IP address. This was tested by changing the settings independently and also together. Same issue with the Heatmiser NeoHub when connected to the smart hub pro router with an ethernet cable.

So still in summary at random the EE smart hub pro still isn't seeing the Heatmiser NeoHub as connected to the ethernet port. Will show again after a power cycle.

Any more thoughts as to why this is happening

@Huggons1 Have you considered just putting a switch between the EE Router and the NeoHub controller as a test?

@Huggons1   a second suggestion to put a small switch between the router and the NeoHub.

There have been a few other posts where this has helped. It does not need to be anything fancy and prices start from £10, even Argos do them.

Smart hub pro updated to firmware r3.8.24-R-1531355-PROD-1 this month.

Smart hub pro still facing the same issue, whereas the heatmiser neo hub won't show as being connected to the ethernet port at random times.

My smart hub plus doesn't and hasn't had this issue. On the current firmware, or previous firmware.

Any thoughts why the smart hub pro has the issue.

Test results...

Same issues with 2 different smart hub pros.

All routers factory reset, after each firmware update.

@Huggons1 Is it still directly connected to the Router or did you buffer too it by a switch?

Directly connected to the router

@Huggons1 Would try just pulling the Ethernet off the port connection waiting a minute then putting it back on to see if it can renegotiate the connection rather than powering the Pro down!

Tried that and it didn't recognise it after doing so. Only recognised it was connected after I rebooted the router
