My landline was down for 3 weeks and Sky provided me with a free EE box/router. I had a package for free usage. I will NEED to have it in the future for my other property that has NO landline. I was unable to create an account with EE to be able to go on using it when the free usage expires. 83 and not 'brilliant' with technology but I have no one 'better' to assist me!

Hi @Rikart
If you're moving your Sky landline over to your new house you need to speak to Sky.
If your EE box is registered in your name then it should still work. Have you tried it?
Thanks

Many thanks. Unfortunately I posted the same problem on the TWO most relevant sites and was reprimanded, THAT is not allowed.
I am 83 and not over 'clever' with modern technology. My landline went down. Sky compensated me for the long delay in getting it back AND provided me a portable EE router, for free, in the interim BUT it came with a fixed term free usage. When that expires I will need to pay EE for use of the EE box at another of my homes (that has NO landline). I have tried to open an account with EE but that failed. I am not sure how to proceed. Strangely, I WAS offered access to the Community site....I was then unsure where to post my problem so selected the two I thought best!

What stopped you creating a MyEE a/c? What error msg?
What were these 2 most relevant sites?

I don't remember an error message. I was asked to provide details that were not possible for me but EE did send me an email such that verification occurred. The EE web site seemed to assume I was/should have been, an EE subscriber.
I need to know how long the EE router, sent by Sky, will work, how I then top it up and what the costs will be.
I was not so happy that EE was not mentioned in a Google search for the 'best portable WiFi when you don't have a landline' Something I have never heard about before, "NOW" was at the top of ten.

You did Add a Device under My EE Mobile & not Add Home BB under My EE BB? The latter is for fixed EE BB which you don't have. You have a mobile router with a mobile SIM.

You are probably right......it would appear to be a 'mobile router' but I cannot access information as to how long the free usage will last, how I get an account or what the monthly cost will be. I had intended giving it to an employee/tenant who lives in a property I own....the property has no landline. He has just bought a laptop and will need reliable WiFi.

Well, if you add it to your MyEE the way I said you could probably find out all those things.
