Well, I am fed up with EE by the fact that although they have a VPN on their router you are not able to use it or even have any information for it.
I have a VPN on my desktop computer but as a result of energy prices I disconnect the lot, except for WiFi.
I am investigating to ditch the EE router and by a new compatible VPN router and installed the VPN in it.
The question is has anyone done this or will I be wasting my money as EE will still keep blocking my IP address.
Any help greatly appreciated.

No straws being clutched. A VPN is used for solving the OP's problem, which they will not be able to go into in more detail on a public forum.
The IPTV provider may have a more private forum to ask for help.

@Mustrum : You know something I don't know?

I'm guessing there's a question around the legitimacy of the IPTV solution in use. If the network destinations it uses are shared with those that stream unauthorised big game football content, then it stands to reason that they will be the target of blocks when the games are on.

Yes, but I can't see how IPTV can be affected by what's on satellite TV.

OP would have to confirm, but I'm guessing the presence of a satellite receiver has no bearing on the problem here. When there are big games broadcast on satellite TV (or elsewhere for that matter), illicit IPTV streams (that will be streaming the same games, at the same time) will be targeted for blocking.
If the source of those streams is common with other non-sport content, then that blocking net is likely to catch some fish it's not looking for 😉

There are IPTV providers that are able to use many devices to stream, include satellite receivers. Illicit streams are quite often blocked by ISP's when live matches are shown. The action also blocks non football channels.

This is exacly the problem. Everything on my satellite receiver (IPTV) is down!
I am looking for a replacement to my Smart EE Hub with a new router that has a modem and is VPN compatible.
Thank you for all your help

@esteban003 It is not your EE router blocking the streams.
You cannot expect your ISP community forum to give you advice on how to access illegal streams.

@esteban003 While its not illegal to stream pirated content ( only to download it is ) No ISP has to provide a means for you to watch such content and has the right to block such content. While a VPN could get you round this you are asking for help with this on a network forum. That’s not going to happen on the simple fact you’re asking to on a network forum.
Thats like asking on an energy supplies forum how to bypass the meter so you don’t have to pay for the power consumed.
