EE parental controls via website?

Just been forced to moved from PlusNet to EE due to wanting to keep our home phone number. Trying to add back the site restrictions (parental controls) we had made under PN, but it seems it's impossible without downloading the app, and that seems to be hit and miss according to many posts on here.

With PN, it was just a case of logging in to the account online and adding/removing categories/sites. Why does EE (same parent company!) want you to download yet another app to do the same thing?! Is there really no way of adding restrictions more simply?

Only been with EE 2 days and not impressed so far...

With EE you must use the EE app to use parental controls. It can't be done on the EE router itself or in your EE online a/c (unlike PN).
