I only switched from BT to EE last week. Got everything set up and was fine until yesterday.
My pc, keeps switching from 5ghz to the 24.ghz after a few minutes. I have set the wifi adapter to prefer the 5ghz as people have mentioned but it keeps doing it. Never had this issue with my BT router.
In the setting for the wifi no where can i see to tell it to keep this device on 5ghz. Anyone got any ideas?

@gjdemon6646 which router do you have and what was the BT one.
You could just put the BT one back on.
Your PC is just choosing the strongest signal, and the 5Ghz signal is just a kittle far away from the PC.

@gjdemon6646 What specifically are you changing property wise for you wireless nic card, there is really nothing you can do router to help, so it is all down to the PC nic to sort it out. Assume you have went looked at any driver for the device and also trolled the NIC side for help regarding the issue. As @Mustrum points out, you can always put the old gear back.

At router was a BT Smart hub 2 so speeds were worse compared to the new hub when its using 5ghz.
New Hub is EE Smart Hub plus SH32B

@gjdemon6646 So take it the NIC in the PC is also wi-fi 6 compatible, 5ghz is 5ghz no matter what. You may wish to look and post type/detail/driver for the wi-fi NIC that you have installed. The forum is not a service support but we do try to aide if possible.

@gjdemon6646 I have approved the pic now.
How far apart are the router and PC?
What issues are you having if it switches to 2.4?
Are you able to run an ethernet cable between router and PC?

@gjdemon6646 Also try the roaming aggressiveness down in value to see if it helps keep you on the 5ghz band.

Close, about 12 feet. Router is below it on another floor.
I will set up the wifi extender to see if that helps
