I have just ordered the EE Smarthub after explaining that I do not have a line to the house. After reading about it, all sites I have look at say plug into your existing line! I was assured that a line was not needed. Can anyone confirm that a smarthub will work without a line to the property?

@Nacsmith have you ordered a mobile 4/5G Smarthub? This does not need a line but run via the mobile network.

You need a line either in the form of a copper line to a BT phone socket or a fibre line laid to an ONT box fixed to an inside wall.
Which EE BB plan have you ordered? It's not a router you have ordered but a whole BB connection of which the router is just an ancillary.

@Nacsmith You could put your address into the BTW wholesale site, that should tell you if OR think your property was ever wired. Use the address checker box, and fill the fields house number and postcode normally enough.
BT Broadband (btwholesale.com)

Fibre 36 Essentials which has WiFi 6 with it I believe.
No fibre in my area so assume it will work on the mobile network like you say. Ty

Fibre 36 Essentials which has WiFi 6 . There are no lines, copper, BT or fibre to the property which I explained when discussing it with the EE rep.

Thankyou. No lines to the property but was advised I didn't need one. Now doubtful hence creating the conversation. 😀

Fibre 36 is fixed Home BB. It doesn't use the mobile network. You will need a copper landline laid to your home as part of your BB installation if you don't already have 1. You were advised wrongly.

@Nacsmith What did the btw site return for your address?
