Hi,
I'm using a Smart Hub Pro and one Smart WiFi Pro extender. When connected to the hub in our home office, I get full gigabit speed via WiFi (~900Mbps+). From our bedroom, with the extender very close, I sometimes get the full 900Mbps speeds, and sometimes it seems very much blocked at around 430Mbps. Restarting the extender fixes this temporarily, but next time I move between the two, it seems to block again.
I'm using a 5Ghz + 6Ghz setup only, with a legacy compatibility network on 2.4Ghz only, in case that matters.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

@mungler There are a few reported posting's that the smart wireless Pro extenders are not upto it and have a mind off there own as to when they wish to function or not, do not use, have never used or would anyway. But you will if you wish see the posting's on the Forum. Will try to find and link for you! You are not alone with the strange effects for smart wireless and especially when wired backhaul for sure! have a read this was just a search for wired backhaul!

Damn, sorry, I meant to say, all of the extenders are connected to the router via Gigabit Ethernet, so the 'backhaul' is wired.

@mungler You need to make the mind up, first you have one, then you have all, so now we have NO idea to what!
And when you move between the devices say like your mobile, then drop the wireless wi-fi connection on the mobile for 5-10 seconds to possibly be sure that the device disconnect's from the hub, when back on with the wireless wi-fi on the mobile and at the extender good chance that it will latch onto it and at full speed as you are wired backhauled.

Sorry, I misspoke - I actually have two extenders, but I haven't set the second one up yet. It's for a different part of the house, and will be wired too.
I do fully disconnect and ensure i'm switched to the other node (hub vs extender) when moving between the rooms. This setup is less good than my old Apple AirPort Extremes which handled client roaming really nicely, but I can't argue with the speed (when it works, at least)

Thanks Jim, oddly enough its started behaving itself again, back up to full speeds. I'll keep an eye on it for a few days and see how it goes. I'll also go do some reading, thanks for the link.
