Hi there,
We have had various speed issues recently so agreed to have full fibre installed. External cabling sorted by Open Reach several weeks ago and internal installation happened on Wednesday. However, since then the EE Smart 2 (which is new as they sent it when we were having speed issues) has been flashing purple. The Open Reach bloke said that it was an authentication issue on EE's part. Called EE and having spoken to several tech guides some didn't know that the EE hub could flash purple. On googling I think it is because the hub manager is not switched to full fibre but how do I get to the router settings with the hub offline?
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

Which Smart Hub is that (read its label)? The orginal Smart Hub, the EE Smart Hub (2023), model no. SH20A, the WiFi6 Smart Hub Plus (SH31B) or the WiFi7 Smart Hub Pro (SH40J).?
Flashing aqua or purple means it's not connected to BB - see Find out what the lights on your EE Smart Hub mean . From the colour you are reporting it looks like the EE Smart Hub (2023).
You can still access a router even when it is not connected to BB. Login to your EE Smart Hub/Router at http://192.168.1.254 with the admin password on the bottom of the slider label on the back of the router.

The other thread you tacked onto was about an older router over a year ago & I had already answered that query here.

@debcal1969 Http://192.168.1.254 does not matter if the hub is connected to broadband or not.

I’m on the EE mini hub so can’t access the router settings. If I switch the WiFi off 4g won’t open the page. Any other way around it?

You need to connect directly to the SH from 1 of your devices, not via the Hybrid Connect.

We had been trying via both our iPhones and iPads and it’s just worked. However the hub manager was stuck on restarting and no won’t open page again but router is now blue

Hi @debcal1969
Welcome to the community.
Which router do you have? Could you check that none of the cables in the back have come loose please?

Thank you all so much ☺️
I knew what to do (unlike the EE Tech guides) by accessing the hub manager settings to switch to full fibre. However, the EE bods didn’t know that and said couldn’t be done whilst offline. We persevered with your suggestions and it just accessed it and we are now all good with router on blue.
I’m just a bit cross that Open Reach and EE didn’t know what to do. I’ve spent lots of time on the phone to them over the past 6 weeks.
