EE Smart Hub and TP-Link Deco Mesh X55 - No internet connection

Khanage

Hi all! I’m after some help/advice. After some research I have purchased a deco mesh x55 set and during setup it is failing to connect to the internet.

I have  used the app and the third party router configuration pages here for the details needed.

I have Full fibre and am using the EE Smart Hub and used the default BT credentials (bthomehub@btbroadband.com and BT, I’ve also tried blank password), but when the Deco tries to connect to the internet it is failing.

I have tried:

Resetting the router to factory settings

Different ports on the router

Different Ethernet cable

Different Deco router from the set

My internet connection is otherwise fine.

I’m  convinced it is something to do with the credentials, does anyone have any help or suggestions on what I might be doing wrong please?

Are you replacing the Smart Hub Plus (I presume) by the Mesh or just extending it with the Mesh?

If the latter, on which devices are you setting the BB creds? It should only be on the SH+. The Mesh just connects to the SH+ by Ethernet not PPPoE. Post the WAN settings of the Mesh.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

Thanks for the response! I’m using the devices to extend the Smart Hub.

During the setup process it asks to connect to the router/modem by Ethernet and then sets up its own network and asks for the ISP credentials.

The only WAN setting I can see in the app for the mesh is ithe IP for the first mesh device I’m  trying to set up: 192.168.68.1.
