I move from BT 900mb to EE 1.6gb Made for Gamers package next friday, However my Smart Hub Pro and Smart Wifi pro arrived today.
Would it be possible to use it and set it up before the switch over date and it all switch over seamlessly?
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

@Verk Just do it all offline then hook an Ethernet cable on it set the ssid and password, would match the admin password also on it all from your BT Smarthub2 and have it ready to go.

@Verk The hub will work and connect, but none off the features on the Pro hub will function until your EE account is working, and you may have some issues if you are using a Digital Voice line, all the info is stored on your BT Smarthub2!
Your ONT requires to be change so the OR Engineer visit to take care off it will be Friday, the web manager to the EE Router, and set the SSID and Password you have currently on your BT Router, connect and most devices should auto connect, you may just have to power some off/on again!

Yes the engineer visit is scheduled for next friday
Basically I just want to get the SSID and password ready so devices connect to it when the ONT is switched over so i dont have to faff around switching things on my smart TV and smart speaker etc

I would suggest keep using your BT router as the EE Pro on its current firmware is not fit for purpose. I have the EE Pro and extenders but I have had to revert to my BT Smarthub2. You won't get your 1.6Gb/s but it will run at 1Gb/s smoothly.

The issue there is BT will want the Hub 2 returning and charge if it is not,

@Verk That is months before you need to return the BT Smarthub2, so sit on it until then! And guess you have not been reading all about your pretty Pro router and how good it is not! The link below is one off them you will find many others so would start to look and see what you are letting yourself in for!

Before 13th Dec 2019 the hardware was given to you and as long as you have not renewed your contract since then the kit belongs to you. The only exception was the Halo mini mobile hub. So check the date you got it.

I got it in 2023 so I do need to return it

It does work with 1.6gb connections. I had it working with full bandwidth at my old address and now my new address. The 1.6gb needs a 2.5G ethernet port or a WiFi 6e/7 6Ghz frequency.
Cat 6 or Cat 7 Ethernet is recommended too, even though Cat 5e will work. If it’s only doing 1GB then the bottleneck is possibly the port, network hub if using one and Wifi that is negotiating at 1Gigabit or Ethernet cable.
