EE Smart Hub Pro and TP-link range extender

I've just moved from Sky broadband to EE with the Smart Hub Pro.  However I can't get my TP-link range extenders (RE450 and TL-WA850RE) to work with it.  I use the range extenders as wired access points for a couple of wired devices around the house rather than to extend the range of the network - I'm have a couple of the Smart Wifi Pro boosters to accomplish that, and the boosters need to be in different places to the wired points so I can't just use the Smart Wifi devices for both.

The TP-links will both connect to the wifi and all lights turn blue, and I can connect to their extended networks, but there is no internet.  The tether app says "No Internet" in the status.    Any tips on how to connect the boosters to not just the EE wifi network but to actually to the internet please?  Or any other ways to get wired access points that don't involve powerline adapters (they don't work well up into the loft).

@foxlj Did both the TP-Link devices work with the previous SKY router before moving to EE, have you also reset both the devices before you started trying to connect to the Pro router. EE Pro will no doubt be working in WPA3 mode as a wifi7 requirement, but try dropping it back if that can be done, if not you may have to put those 2 devices into a compatible network so have a look with the web manager. http://192.168.1.254 .

Yes, both were working fine with Sky and I did a full reset.  No luck with the compatible network, same problem unfortunately.

This bit is confusing me (bold). Are these devices in Extender or Access Point mode? I'm assuming you need the former for your use-case but the statement above makes me think they are configured in the latter.

Might help to provide a bit more clarity on how things are wired and where.

They are set up as Extenders but the extended wireless networks that they produce (not sure what the correct terminology is?) automatically have a suffix of _EXT on the name of my home network, so I meant that I can connect to that network and all works fine.

@foxlj Your explanation still leaves a lot to be desired. Does it mean that you connect to the tp-link with the _ext at the end of it, and when you do the device connects and you can go do whatever you need to on the Internet.?

Yes.  Perhaps you could only see half of my reply but it says, in reference to the _EXT networks, “I can connect to that network and all works fine”.  By works fine I mean I can connect to the internet.

@foxlj I could see all of the reply, the tp-link out off the box, wps easy setup does exactly what you have and throws the device with the EE SSID with the _EXT on the back off it.

If this is not the operation that you wish, then you have to use the Tp-Link utility to go rename, remove the _EXT and have seamless roaming, or set operation mode from RE to AP, is this what you are trying to do and need guidance to do so?

Sorry I got some information wrong in my reply though.  I can connect to the EXT wireless network but it has no internet.  Apologies.
