Hi there @Scotsman-46
I'm sorry you've had problems connecting the printer and the landline is not working for making and receiving calls.
Could I just check, since you last posted on the community are you able to make and receive calls on the landline? If this is the same, do you get a dial tone?
Our Fix common home phone faults Help page has steps to try and resolve this, and ways to get in touch.
For the printer settings, the Help connecting devices to your hub page has information on helping connect devices to the hub.
Please let me know how you get on and if you need any further help.

The same happened to me. I just got connect to my broadband with the help of a lady staff member. All my stuff, i.e Braodband, TV Box and even my landline was working, that is until I wanted to printout something, that is when I saw the screen on my Canon printer still had my old provider Virgin Media (VM) showing, not EE. Now my landline is not working. I will have to try deleting my printed and start all over by installing the Canon printer again. All this has me flusttered (I'm a 79 novice living alone). This is the reason I always say, "BB providers should be forced by the government to supply their customers with both email addresses and 0800 phone number so people like me (complete novices) can get help immediately, eith by phone or email.

I hope I'm doing this correct, as I am a 79 year old NEW EE member, (complete novice) so it's going to take me ages to figure it all out. I noticed a gentleman called "XraySpex" talked about changing our smart hub pro's security number to one of our own, is that correct? Yesterday a lady staff member who was helping me to connect my broadband, I asked about changing the hub's password for my own, like I did with Virgin Media (VM) she told me just leave it alone, and not change anything. Lets hope that is correct.

I have just joined EE Broadband, and I like the 0800 number, that is if your phone is working, mine is not. My landline did work for a day, then after I received help from a lady to connect my "Smart Hub Pro" everything worked great, I even finally got access to my EE account. My problem started when I tried to use my canon printer, when I looked at the printers small screen and it showed VM's screcret number was still there. Now I have to try and find out how to fix this and get the EE's security number into the printer. I think I will have to do is "delete" the printer on the screen first, then "Add a printer", but using the same printer name. Later on that day, that is when I found out my landline was not working, in or out. This is one of the reasons ALL broadband provider should be forced by our government to supply their customers with an email address and a 0800 phone number so their customer can get in touch should the need help, just like now. No phones working and NO email addresses.

@Scotsman-46 : You head this thread by "Smart Hub Plus" but then go on to talk about a "Smart Hub Pro". Which is it?
I'm unsure what you say I said about a "security number". Where did I say that? Do you mean a router's SSID network name?

Hi Leanne_T, sorry my reply did not find you, as the "postmaster" (whover that is) said they counld not sent it. But your recent email to me and the links you sent brought me to here. I said before, I am a 79 year old man who know nothing about all this Tech stuff. NO my landline is completely dead, and I can not print anything on my computer. At this moment I have been looking on the Canon website to see if they have experts to come to my home to connect the printer to both my desktop and laptop. So far there are many sites, but as I said before, I have NO idea what settings I have to select. I am grateful for the suggestion you have given me, I will try them all. as I said before I am 79 years old with a small hole in my lung which hinders my breathing so I have to take many cat-naps all the time as I tire easily. I am still trying to find my way around the EE webite, which will take a long time. I am tryin to get in touch with a lady called Julia who work at EE as she really helped me with a few problems. I just wish EE would give its customers an email address as well as the 0800 number if our landline works, mine does not 😞 Anyway sorry to bother you with my problems. I will get back to looking for someone to fix my printer. All the best, Michael.
