Posting the firmware versions for the EE Smart Hub 7 Plus Router, which was launched 12th December 2025.

Firmware version: r3.29.4-R-1511690-PROD-84001 19/12/2025 App ver 3.7.4

Firmware version: r3.35.15-R-1597208-PROD-84001 19/12/2025 App ver 3.11.2

Looks like a bug with the firmware and user not able to set to a static IP address for devices connected to the router by an ethernet cable. Always use this IP address is set to No as default and can't be set to "Yes"

I have fired off a few messages to contacts in EE to let them know, but boy they don't make it easy to highlight such bugs.

Also EE have form for not acknowledging bugs, or when finally they do, not getting around to addressing them. A perfect example of this fact, is the EE Smart Hub Pro fixed channel bug. Ongoing for over a year and counting!

Hi @Huggons1

I know you're part of another thread regarding this. Just updating this thread for other you and any other users who may read this thread.

Our engineers are aware of this problem and it will be fixed in the next software/firmware update. In the meantime, you may be able to work around the problem by configuring static IPs directly on your local devices.

Thanks for the update, that's great news.

It is a shame that your colleagues is the front line support team are not aware and are sending out new routers to anyone reporting the issue, or even saying that the router doesn't have the fixed IP address option! Would you be able to feed the known bug back to your frontline support colleagues please?

Always use this IP address bug finally resolved in r3.35.24

I am a new EE user and using r3.35.24-R-1648110-PROD-84001. I just don’t know why port forwarding is so difficult to set up. I’ve never managed to get it working. Can anyone help?

Why EE just make it simple as the 3rd party routers?

@Chjoeyu : After defining a Rule are you pressing the '+' to the R of it to add it to the list before doing the Save?

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.
