Hi there i currently have 900 Mbps broadband with EE, of which i can see renewal deals for my broadband with EE online. But the only package i can get is the 900 Mbps broadband package or 1GB package for like £3 extra i cannot downgrade my speed either, where as when i shop around im getting various providers show i can get from 150Mbps up to 1.6Gbps e.g vodaphone and Zen Internet. My Fttp is connected by a overhead feed, when i checked Zen internet the checker told me i i already have a FTTP feed and it will just switch over however i am not sure my ONT on the wall supports higher than 1GB.

My household uses a lot of data at the same time for game downloads, streaming etc, i just dont want to order to find out i need to get a new ONT if i did get anything higher than 1Gbps and EE does not show me any other packages. See the attached photos of the ONT some websites i look at says it supports 2.5Gbps downstream and some say 1 Gbps, any help with information on this model would be great as i would need to inform EE or whoever i change too.

My overhead feed supports 1.6Gbps and 115Mbps upload.

 @Johngking Looks to me like you have the 1gbps Nokia ONT the model number for the Nokia 2.5gbps ONT ends in T yours ends in R. Also the LAN port is Yellow rather that Orange and will be labelled 2.5gb.

Hence your ONT would only be changed if you upgraded to one of the 1.6gb packages. However these are only available if you do not have EE TV or a landline.

You would not be allowed to downgrade whilst still in contract.

Hope this helps

@Johngking As @Ewan15 has replied, the ONT you have is good to anything upto the 1Gb/s package, anything above that from ANY supplier will require an ONT swap out to the higher rated HARDWARE interface speed.

@Johngking

Please pay special attention to @Ewan15 's post about the TV and landline.

i.e., you can't get these with the 1.6Gbs broadband.
