Discrepancy between downstream sync speed and actual speed.

Hello there,

my current speeds in smart hub  settings are:

Downstream sync speed: 39.999 Mbps

Upstream sync speed: 9.999 Mbps

Upload works perfectly each time I test, however download speeds never exceed 35.6Mbps, that's via Ethernet cable with no other clients connected to hub and outside of "peak hours". Any idea what may be wrong? I have brand new hub can cables+microfilter. Clean windows install. Thanks in advance!

The difference is that the BB signal includes both the data which you measuring when you test & other TCP/IP overheads which are necessary for routing that data over the Net. You'll never get a data throughput greater than 95% of your sync rate on FTTC. That's why when you buy 40 Meg Fibre as you have the ISP is forced to advertise it as no more than 38 Meg.
