@Johnwd It is somewhat difficult with the BT/EE coming together and from the CS side it does appear that both EE/BT do have access to each others data, can testify to that as an EE customer myself, have had a call from BT, so mobile displays either EE Guide calling, or BT Guide calling. The EE routers are different from the BT routers, and it would also appear that the DV systems are different also. If you are an EE customer have broadband with them then they are the go to dept, if a BT customer and have there broadband then deal with BT at present until they move the account to EE. Link is below and check out the FAQs, hope it clears so things up.

@CJL12 There is a DV Team at EE, so you may have to get to one of the specialist's but the text below was direct from EE TA when asked the question back in Sept.

"Hi mate, apologies for the delay. I've been told no it's not possible to turn off voicemail at the moment you can only have it removed. I've heard this is potentially going to change, but no time scale yet unfortunately. "

I emailed Marc Allera this afternoon about turning off voicemail on DV and had someone from his team call me up later that evening. She told me that currently there is currently no way to disable or remove voicemail on DV, so would be interested to know how you found out that it can be removed as she told me emphatically that it can’t, which annoyed me as I definitely want it removed.

@L1ll13 And the message that is bold is Direct from EE, cut and paste with the response. So it's who you want to believe, will also go and find the last messages which are only about a week old, with customers like your self who have JUST had it removed successfully. Disabled is not an option, IT GOES REMOVED.... Will link the post's below when i find them.

They may have updated a policy which is NO matter what, the customer does not get the service removed.

@L1ll13 This is the text just in case the link above does not work.

Got answer service removed. My elderly mother moved from BT to EE in Sept 24, had same issue about getting answer service turned off, plus other issues with account login. Could not change the ringing time length or turn off voicemail callback alerts. I've had approx 17 phone calls with Customer services most for over hour at a time, some said answer service could be removed some said it couldn't. Was passed to managers and techs. They tried all sorts, some even argued there was no answer service on the account til I told them to ring it. Finally got a person who said the answer service was linked to around 7 different platforms, and was only active on one, all the other reps were looking at the wrong ones. Said the way to remove it was to go in and add the answer service then remove it. It worked. Hopefully I'll get the other issues resolved now as I still have an open complaint. Hope this helps.

@L1ll13 For @JohnM22 trying to find out the status for voicemail completely removed if you do not mind me asking. Quick read above you will see the reason why. Jim

Hi, I can't add much more than my original post. I moved my elderly mother voluntarily from BT broadband and digital home phone to EE in Sept 2024. She kept the same BT router. Only recently had the EE answer service completely removed as it was before with BT. Many customer service reps don't realise that it can be done. I think it was a lady from data validation explained about the answer service being active on 7 different platforms and it was simply  a matter of finding the one remaining one that it was active on. To remove it from the one remaining platform they had to add the answer service to enable them to then remove it. It worked.  Also, off topic, to resolve a login issue, they had to delete all previous instances of the login email from all previous BT systems and reopen the account with EE and merge it with the EE account I had initiated online and then link products. The answer service is completely removed, it rings and rings with no diverts. Call waiting still active. It can be done.
