Changing from Plusnet to EE and email problem

deccaman

Hi all, I switched from Plusnet to EE on 5/06 all went smoothly on that day router connection and phone, however noticed on the second day my outgoing email would not send and kept asking for network password I could receive email and tested from Greenby to myself (email is outlook via Greenby which plusnet transferred to some months ago) all was rather strange

I tried all sorts of things to sort this ,Greenby was an AI generated response. Eventually I found on the plusnet community forum some one with same problem ! Solution was to change in outlook accounts the outgoing mail server from relay.plus.net to. (Do not know if I have posted this in the right location sorry )

mail.plusnet.enmail.co..... just in case anyone has same problem it worked for me but don’t ask me how it was a solution from one of the kind peeps on the forum.

@deccaman : I seem to remember that Greenby are wrongly advising you that you should be using Port 25 unencrypted for SMTP. Port 25 will never work when you are not sending emails over the email provider's (PN's) own network. You are not; you are sending over EE's network. Change Port 25 to Port 587 SSL/TLS ON or failing that Port 465 SSL/TLS ON.
