Canceling a new order?

I am currently with BT and my broadband contract doesn't expire till next June, but I contacted EE today to see if they could offer me a better deal even though I'm still in contract with BT.

So the short answer was yes, £10 saving a month on what we currently pay.  However, if I wait till my BT contract expires, then I could save £24 per month for the same contract.  I said to the EE op, I wasn't sure if I should change now or wait.  She said if you take it now and decide otherwise before the 14 days then you can cancel the order and remain with BT.
So I've decided to wait till June and make more of a saving, common sense really I guess.
But I have just contacted EE again and have been told that because the order is now classed as being "open" it cannot be cancelled and I have to wait for the replacement router/discs to arrive and then ring up again and cancel it.  I only did the order at 10am this morning and I thought it would save any hassle if I cancelled it ASAP.
Does anyone know if there is a better or more efficient way in which to cancel the order before stuff is dispatched to me?

@AlanW5 Here is a link to the copy of the current terms and conditions that is applied to the way that you tried to do your order, section 5 explains i think relevant to you.

@AlanW5   I would call the Broadband Care team again, hopefully you will get a more helpful person, the longer you wait the harder it will be to stop the order.

Tried to call them back, but after being on hold for 40 minutes, gave up!  Try again tomorrow I guess

I'm having the same issue. I'm a BT broadband & mobile customer (or I was!) I had a notification on my BT app saying I could save £20 a month on my mobiles transferring my broadband to EE so I rang EE & spoke to one of the 'guides' who talked me through the package but it was rather rushed & I had my noisy 2 year old grandson with me to be honest I was losing focus & explained to the 'guide' I needed to think about it & wasn't able to pay attention due to my grandson distracting me. Well somehow I ended up agreeing to it! Eeeeek I called BT & told the advisor what had happened earlier with EE & Id like to cancel the transfer/order for EE broadband he said I would need to call next day to cancel, well guess what, when I called them next day (yesterday) I was told I am now with EE broadband **bleep**! And to makes matters worse I get an email today (day 2) telling me I have my first bill to pay which wasn't explained to me I was told by the EE 'guide' I wouldn't be billed until next month! So here I am waiting on hold while another EE 'guide' is trying to sort it out fingers crossed she can help, this is totally unacceptable I get the feeling it's either high targets set for the EE sales team or they don't actually know what happens once you're transferred from BT?! I'll update when I have a resolution.

@HadEnough2 Your first bill will be produced on the activation date, then set for collection some 7 day's later when EE will setup the DD and take the money if you are doing it that way. BT will produce the final bill and refund the difference to your account as you always pay in advance for both. Your transfer is one of those, that (you may/ or may not) get equipment sent, if so keep hold of your existing BT until you are 100% happy, there is a 60 day return policy, its all in the HELP section top of page, with terms and conditions. Advice seems to be allow BT to do the transfer, but they are all the same now allegedly. HTH

Just spoken to the EE Broadband Team, order cannot be canceled until it has been fulfilled, which "should" be Monday. Told to ring back once l get a text saying the service has been swapped over to EE  from BT, then ring up and cancel it.

Meanwhile, they have sent out three replacing Wifi disc's which lve got to return once l cancel the order.

Stupid me, just trying to save all the hassle etc, should have known better really l suppose.

@AlanW5 Really don't know how this goes for you, but if you are going to stay BT, i would say keep trying as you are doing, know it a real pain. Don't be surprised if BT automatically move you in 12 months time, and was really surprised at the estimated savings you got especially with the time gap. Keep at it...👍👍
