Can I install additional antimalware/bad content/anti-porn software on my EE router (it's the brand new one)
or can anybody recommend another way (e.g. an additional piece of hardware) to secure my kids from bad content, iPads, mobile phones already done
thank you

Hi @Monkeyrhino
Welcome to the community.
Have you had a look into Norton Family? You can add parental controls on there.

Which router?
If it's a fixed BB router, have a look at OpenDNS Family Shield . It only needs the DNS changing on your router & does not require you to install s/ware on your kid's devices.

ok, thanks, I went to the OpenDNS site, it wants the router name/type. I looked at the router, it just says made in China. It's brand new from EE, I upgraded this week to full-fibre BB

@Monkeyrhino It is either a black Smart Hub, or a white Smart Router. However I doubt that matters, all you need is the ability to log into it, go to the advanced section and enter the DNS settings that Open DNS provide.

@Monkeyrhino : It doesn't really need to know your router. It tells you the necessary on its 2nd page:
be sure to use our FamilyShield nameservers instead. Our FamilyShield nameservers are:
- 208.67.222.123
- 208.67.220.123
That's all you need. You just set those IPs in the DNS settings of your router as Manual/not Auto on the following pages either:

Thank you both Xray and Mustrum
I changed the DNS settings, restarted the white router, and restarted my PC
I Googled porn hub. The links came up as a search result. Is this what should happen? I did not click on them.

Yes, it's not filtering search engine results; only where they link to.
Thanks! You're welcome 🙂 ! Glad I could be of assistance & trust it is now sorted.
