My new EE router has arrived but install is not till next week when an Openreach Engineer is coming.
Can I open the box and have a play with the router os is this a No-No??

@Old_Guy It's a good thing to get it out the box, play away to your hearts content, just keep it off the line until it is needed, also keep it powered on let it burn itself in as like any new piece off electronics the early day's can be the failure time!

@Old_Guy no one will know anyways, though that said without an internet connection there is not a lot you can do with it.

@Old_Guy That's what you were hoping for to replace you Plusnet unit if i remember correctly, at least you will be able to compare and get it fairly squared away for the swap day and quick change out.
