I am considering moving my broadband to EE from BT but wonder what is possible.
There is no BT Fibre in my road but City Fibre is there, do EE use City Fibre cables?

@David254

Never heard that they do , always OpenReach same as BT.

Just checked where my daughter lives as their ISP - Vodafone - uses City Fibre and EE can only offer FTTC.

No, EE only use the Openreach infrastructure.

What does BT Wholesale Broadband Availability Checker estimate for your phone number? Post the whole table and the line above it, blanking out your phone number. If it doesn't recognise your phone number or you don't have one, use the Address Checker.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Home Broadband & Home Phone or Option 2 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

There is no Full Fibre (Openreach) and no date for it to be supplied, I wonder as City Fibre installed their lines if Openreach will have any interest in installing their cables.
Probably will be looking at Sky I suppose

@David254 You might want to jump on the sky help Forum as the CF is not plain sailing for some at present!

That makes sense Jim but the main problem is what's possible.
I'm on FFTC  with BT and I think CF and Virgin are the only options.
I'm struggling to work out which is the best/easiest/most reliable having been with BT in all forms for around 50 years, don't like/understand the choices much 🙂

@David254 CF yes, for the Fibre side, sky are having some major potential problems getting CF and there Hubs to work so much so people have installed, months later not ever been able to get anything working upped and went to vodafone etc still on the same CF fibre connection, switched the new hub on and connected instantly, seems to be a bit off the LH not knowing what the RH is doing currently! So just the heads up, not saying it would happen to you but be aware! You will find me on the sky as JimM1 if you need.👍

Thanks Jim, I'm finding it a bit of a minefield, don't know which way to jump so appreciate views.

@David254 No problem, like you with sky 20 years, 1 year in the EE twilight zone, FTTC and FTTP upgrade ((OR))when i was with EE, FW update mid Feb25, killed the Network and was gone back to sky by Mid March, Sky and OR no issues whatsoever, transition was as smooth as a babies bottom!

@David254

I will say that my daughter is very happy with her Vodafone package on City Fibre with absolutely no issue at all except when Vodafone had a nationwide issue a couple of weeks ago.

CF ISPs tend to be cheaper than OR based ones and often you get the same upload speed as download.
