Broadband Buy out

Spoke to someone on 31st december on the App live chat to upgrade my phone as contract was up, at the time he offered me a broadband deal and I mistakenly said my broadband was not up until April. as I had been advised by Virgin that it was not out for a while. He offered assistance to buy me out of it and put up to £300 towards the buy out. It was a great offer but I declined as I said Ill just wait for it to run out before I move it across. Now after receiving my virgin bill today which has doubled with no notice, I spoke to them and they explained my contract is actually up on 02/02 and the only way to put my bill back to normal is to sign a new contract. I refused to do this as I wasn't given the right information initially and so now I will be charged £50 termination fee to leave. I am unable to get back in touch with the original gent I spoke to at EE, have taken out the new contract but how do I go about assistance with the buy out?
