Hi everyone
I had cable broadband installed into my home on Wednesday 11th June 25. The engineer did not do a great job. He drilled the access hole for the cable through my exterior wall only to realise that he had drilled directly into another wall ! He then had to drill a second access hole in another place, Both times from the inside of the house to the outside. When I looked at the result outside after he had left i relised he had broken off a chunk of the exterion brickwork. Not good workmanship. He then asked if i new of somewhere he could buy some sealant to fill the holes he created. I told him where. After the installation he said he would return to seal the holes. He has never returned !
I contacted EE customer support only to be given a number to ring Openreach. These are EE contractors responsible for the installation. They and EE told me to submit a legal claim form for damage to my property. All i wanted was for the holes to be sealed.
In the end I bought a tube of silicone water resistant sealer for £4.20p and did the job myself.
In summary EE and Openreach need to do a better job.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

Hi @Graham150
Welcome to the community.
I'm really sorry to hear of your experience with the installation. I really do appreciate your disappointment.
Openreach will have their own processes for handling this type of issue. I understand that you've repaired the damage yourself, but I'm sure they would want to know about this kind of incident so they can try and prevent problems like this in future. If you follow the instructions on this Report damage, vandalism or a health & safety issue Openreach help page, you can either claim for damage or tell them that the work was not up to standard.

Thanks Chris
As EE are the provider and Openreach are representing EE in this case I think you should express your custome disappointment to them. I havent got the time or the will to persue a claim against Openreach but I have already let them know of my issues via their customer feedback survey.
