Billed even though I cancelled in cooling off period

I took out EE broadband by calling you on the morning of 18th Nov, and was told about the 14 day cooling off period as I was moving from BT.  The same day, I saw a better deal with BT so called EE to cancel the order and to issue a complaint that I had been mis sold a broadband package. I was told that the order was currently being processed and that someone would call the following day to discuss this further. No one called me the following day, on 19th Nov and so I called the call centre again on 19th Nov and they confirmed the cancellation of the broadband package within the 14 day cooling off period. They told me that they had already dispatched the router and that they would send a returns bag for it to be sent back. Which I have done having never opened the equipment.

I have just checked my bank account to find I have been charged £51.99 by DD, which was taken from my account on 28th Nov ??? when I had cancelled the contract within hours of taking it out on the 18th Nov. I therefore cancelled my DD mandate to EE.  I have now received a further email from EE saying I owe £485.98 which is a charge for ending the contract on the 9th December???? When I actually ended my contract on the same day as I took it out - well within the 14 day cooling off period. At the time, I was assured that all monies would be refunded from the contract. Please can I speak to some one immediately concerning this.

Was EE BB ever installed? The 14-day cooling off period starts from then provided you ordered by phone or online. So should its billing.

No one will contact you from this user discussion group other than thro' the medium of these forums by posts such as this. Anyway we haven't the faintest idea who you are. You need to phone CS.
