BT broadband to EE 1.6gbps

What a pain it has been to switch over to EE to get new router and faster speeds. Initially I was told they can order the 1.6gbps broadband from EE as I had by complete WiFi and i agreed only then after the phone call ended I noticed they simply transferred over like for like package on EE and found I then had to pay more not much but still £1 more. I was later told to let my order complete and I can then regrade and get the 1.6gb fibre from EE. I then checked on EE and it was still showing as I have the 900mb package. A few days passed, however  to my surprise it now shows I can get rhe 1.6 gbps package from EE. So when I called again to day I was told I can’t get it even though I am on full fibre fttp as the people on the phone said they can’t see the offer so can’t provide this to me  so firstly I was misled and missold what I was ordering then now their site doesn’t match it states I can get which is mis advertising. I have spent a number hours on the phone.

Well i sent the email, and was surprised to have a response and reply, short one but said that is not good, and he asked some one in my reply to investigate and resolve it so i hope this is the final push to openreach to get it sorted out

Well the effects of the email i sent are having an effect as i got a email at 9:30pm to say they picking up this issues and have asked for a pin point where the problem is and a fix, this is now being dealt with at an executive level now and they are contacting EE to let them know this is now at executive level, and this person has letters after there name. In job title, so i am now hopfull i am on the final home straight as i guess bums will be whipped now and things should move much quicker and i be update from the executive who is dealing with it now

Have been waiting 3 months now and counting for EE to connect new broadband into my new house build from just outside the door ! They’re an absolute joke! Waiting for a piece of equipment apparently . Have complained 10 times . 🙈

Oh that's no good.

What process were you going through? Migration from BT Fibre to EE Fibre or are you starting brand new with EE?

I presume it's the 2.5gb ONT that you're waiting for OpenReach to come and install?

Had another email this morning from openreach, and they sending an engineer out tomorrow to check things this end of the connection and will working with someone in the office, so i am more hopeful that this issue i been suffering could finally be close to being resolved and i be back on fibre again, things are definitely moving a lot faster now since I sent the email

Apart from the rude agent, I have had exactly the same experience. Transferred over onto the 900gb full works (which doesn't appear to exist now) and told I would be able to upgrade after transfer. This was late October. After numerous phone calls still being told that they can't upgrade me, new customers only. The last agent even suggested that I just order 1.6gb on the web and that would cancel the old contract but I can't even do that, I'm not sure I would risk it anyway.

2 Openreach engineers have come as expected the done a new fibre run inside the house as the kink in the fibre, after 90mins wait for rebuilding the circuit and that is now done and after 6 weeks i am now back connected on line speed test speeds will be posted once it all settles down, it be a long road and a battle but the day has finally came, and it seems i was right the kink caused most of the issues

Well I’ve been told by someone on the ‘new EE’ team that it’s definitely possible, it’s just on hold for a couple weeks because of the problems. I’m hopefully expecting an update next Thursday whether it’s available or not just as a courtesy to let me know where they’re at with it.

I also couldn’t see the full works plan on their website and their 900mbps plan is currently only £57 a month right now on their website so best believe I will not be paying the £69 a month they’re currently charging me for the same 900mbps service.

Amazing news! Insanity it’s taken this long for you to get it sorted and that it took an email to higher management to get things moving. Keep us posted on the speeds your connections settles into.
