BT broadband full WiFi transfer to EE 1.6gbps

BT broadband to EE 1.6gbps

What a pain it has been to switch over to EE to get new router and faster speeds. Initially I was told they can order the 1.6gbps broadband from EE as I had by complete WiFi and i agreed only then after the phone call ended I noticed they simply transferred over like for like package on EE and found I then had to pay more not much but still £1 more. I was later told to let my order complete and I can then regrade and get the 1.6gb fibre from EE. I then checked on EE and it was still showing as I have the 900mb package. A few days passed, however  to my surprise it now shows I can get rhe 1.6 gbps package from EE. So when I called again to day I was told I can’t get it even though I am on full fibre fttp as the people on the phone said they can’t see the offer so can’t provide this to me  so firstly I was misled and missold what I was ordering then now their site doesn’t match it states I can get which is mis advertising. I have spent a number hours on the phone.

Ok i just got off the phone to EE, it has been escalated with EE and EE has escalated it with BT Openreach, and they have received the escalation from EE so I hear something within 4 hours,

as EE person agree with me it has gone on for too long now, and from the sounds of it, the problem is 2 accounts on 1 line what i was told had been fixed,

i now have a case number, so i guess we will see, i felt like it would to be fixed b today and that was right i hope this now means it fast tracked and dealt with with a couple of days, ideally be nice if it was only a matter of hours

this really has become a royal pain in the backside now

@Bluenose_Dave

I honestly can't wait for the day it is up and running and we are both posting positive results downloading at 1.6mbps.

Also dealing with switching across from BT->EE, was sold the 1.6 line and was setup today. ONT was not upgraded and wan link speed in the router is only 1000.

After phoning up I'm told that I'm actually on the 900 plan. Login to website and app result in an error showing up. - This will allegedly be fixed in 3 working days....

Not sure what will happen if I can't get the 1.6gb plan. If I cancel will I be able to return to my previous BT contract?

Well it ended up me calling EE and Openreach update from just gone 1 today, it has been handed to a person on Openreach side,and  it is back to an optical issues, once again i said about a kink in the fibre by the plug for the ONT must be at least the 5th time i said about it

Openreach can refuse an escalation but thankfully that is not my case, so that is a small win, and now that accepted Openreach have to fix it ASAP, and it will remain on the top of the pile of the person now personally dealing with it, i really hope this is the beginning of the end of this month long battle, i also raised a complaint with BT isp

Openreach came out to me today, the guy was really nice, fiddled around with the ONT ran some more test and came up with the solution I needed a new router. I'm on router number 2 from EE and have a third party which is a much higher spec than the EE one which I mentioned. Told him I had connected the ONT to a computer with a 2.5Gbps network port and was still getting less than the promised speed. He spent a load of time on the phone to his support team, said everything is fine and that they were going to send an email to BT/EE Wholesale as it must be something with the profile. As a parting test he did a factory reset on the ONT and went on his way.

Decided to set up my wifi booster as it wasn't ordered with the router (there's an issue with those being sent out too), did a speed test via the EE app and noticed I was getting 1681Mbps. Fast forward to this evening and my connection had crapped out again less than 200Mbps, power cycled the router and the ONT with no improvement. Did a factory reset on the ONT, cycled the router and back up to 1681Mbps but then an hour later down to 1457 and a bit later down to 1100.

Person dealing with my account called me back a few times today, have left it that I'm going to monitor it over the weekend, she'll call me back on Monday to see how things are.

Beginning to think that I have a bum ONT, shouldn't have to factory reset it to get the connection to work!

@timprocter when you can get the connection it looks a bit like this, just don't bank on it staying at those speeds!
