Activation Date

Hello,

I am considering purchasing EE Fibre Broadband but I’ve seen reports of the activation date being 3-4 weeks after the initial order. Whereas other providers are 4-14 days, usually on the lower end.

I am just wondering if this has changed since the partnership with BT? What are the current activation date periods looking like? As I don’t want to order without a rough idea as I’m moving into a place and would need broadband fairly quickly and not a month in for work.

Thanks.

I believe it is 2 weeks. EE being part of the BT Group has nowt to do with it. It depends on OR availability who are by Regs independent of all ISPs.

I have recently ordered full fibre connection from EE.... I ordered on the 25th May and have an install date of the 21st June.  But that is for Openreach to come and install a new fibre connection from my local pole to the house, my neighbour ordered a new full fibre connection from BT a couple of days after me and seems to have a similar lead time.

I assume if it is just taking over a line that is already working (self install) it would have been a lot quicker.

Yes, @Ian06 , Full Fibre (FTTP) will take longer for all the work that has to be done to the home. I was referring to standard Fibre where the only work is at the cab. Then the timescale is mostly dependant on the OR engs' availability.

This seems to be the norm at the moment.

I am in a house that was previously with BT (so no network changes are required) and I have an activation date 3 weeks after ordering.

It really isn't a great way to start your customer journey......
