Having been on the new 1.6gb/s service now for 2 weeks, and here are my views,
i have the EE new smart router plus and 3 extenders, first off i know the EE smart hub plus only has 1gb LAN ports, speeds have been ok and stable WIFI rangers from about 650-820 what is not bad, i m running with them hardwired with a lan to them, i know WiFi 6 max speeds are 1200 but rarely get them in the real world
this package feels like it been rushed out, my reason for saying this are, openreach engineers laptops have 1gb Ethernet ports so they are unable to check speeds from ONT or any other Speedtest at your home if you are on the 1.6gbs package
the EE router having only 1gb LAN, also it comes with a cat 5e cable, this cat of cable does up to 1gb, so if you are on 1.6gb/s you will need to get a new Ethernet lead to connected the smart hub plus to the ONT
all the WiFi features like work and game mode and WiFi controls dont work, it say page not found, i have heard that the WiFi enhanced feature has been turn off so the team can look at it and fix it as it affecting a lot of users and should be back after a month, i am unable to check speed via the router page this time it asking for me to make an EE account
speeds and connection has been stable and good, but i did have a lot of issues getting the service
i know of people who have bought a 3rd party router so they can get full access to the raw 1.6gbs speeds, and they are having no issues on speeds as router has 2.5gb LAN on them unlike the EE smart hub plus
i have bought a usbc to 2.5gb Ethernet adapter so i can test the raw speeds at the ONT, plus if openreach do need to test speeds at my home they will be able too
so in short i hope you can see why i think this package has been rushed out from the fact openreach dont have the kit to test speeds at the customer home, to all the issues with the new smart hub plus

Could well be, it bad how they are treating us we paying a premium price for the connection even a higher price that if you was to place an order now, so I think it is only right we expected premium CS 10 day since the pro router was released what is the first correct hardware for our connection speeds from EE
yet it feels like we are no closer to getting it than we was when it go released 10 days ago
if EE visit on Wednesday don’t resolve my issues I be pushing hard for the pro
as it should not of been possible for them to send me a smart hub 2 but they did, I’m sure they could do us too, even if it manually doing it while waiting for a way to do the masses
we know CS can give credit to broadband bills so can’t it be added as the £10 extra and credit us the £10 back for 2 months or how long to sort the system out

Yes EE was very clever with it working for our connection

10 days it an absloute joke really

If they can’t order it as part of our current package there’s 2 potential and quite simple solutions.
Change the end date of our contracts and let us re-order, as part of that they can update the router.
Add it on with the £10 charge and then raise a reoccurring discount on our lines for £10.

As bad and frustrating as it is, the contract you signed at the time included in the terms and conditions the kit that was included and contractually that is the only equipment you're entitled to. EE don't necessarily have to give you the new WiFi 7 equipment as they set out the speeds to the property and the equipment in the initial T&Cs, HOWEVER it *seems* that they are willing to do so but this does take a good amount of effort in terms of how to manage the stock of an in demand product.
There's actually a possibility that if they don't do this correctly and just send it to customers on demand they could be BREAKING their own T&Cs as it specifies you get one particular type of equipment. It takes care and time to sort.
I would imagine customers who ordered the WiFi 7 kit especially in their T&Cs will get prioritised, and after the rush subsides the customers on 1.6Gb with WiFi 6 kit may then be able to get it upgraded.
I would have thought that it is obvious that they need to deal with the current orders in their system for customers signing up with the WiFi 7 kit reflected in their terms, before then voluntarily upgrading customers on the older kit, as new different kit is never usually sent out without a change of contract to reflect it.

Yes it not hard to find a solution to it if they wanted to find one. And if they did we have better faith in EE as right now it don’t feel like our situation is been took into account and a big FU to us coming across from them

Can anyone point me to where it explains the speeds are capped to a single device on the non WIFI 7 equipment. I ask because i cannot find that information and when i click on "Your Speeds Explained" it says
"
Your normal available upload speed range is 115 Mbps

The word capped may not be right word it more the max from a lan port is limited to 1gb max speed usually about 930 mbs as that the max Ethernet speeds.
i maybe wrong but that is my thinking

And I wonder how many customer are on the 1.6gbs as last I knew from about 6 months ago was only in the low hundreds
