2 Days after live date and router still blinking orange

Hi,

My activation date was on the 15th and today is the 17h and my router is still not able to connect to the broadband, I tried to use a different master socket, restart using the button on the back, I checked the cables and it’s still the same.

I messaged the EE bot and it said my line was working just fine, although I’m wondering if it’s a problem with the cables connecting to the master socket from the exterior.

I would really appreciate immediate assistance since it’s very inconvenient not having internet access.

Thank you.

Hello,

Assuming you have an FTTC package, not an FTTP package (if FTTP then you need to be connecting your WAN port to your Openreach ONT not the any Master Socket).

There is only ONE Master Socket in a house, hence being called the Master one so you might want to provide photos as to the equipment you do have, including your router, and then people will have a better chance of assisting to make sure you have things set up right at least in the home.

@Dayson You need to say what router you have from EE, but on a fttc / Master socket arrangement it should be the SH31A model, cable from the back of the EE router on the Grey DSL socket to your master socket, type unknown and wither it is a direct connection, anyway that cable is a RJ11 to RJ11 supplied in the box, there is also a ADSL filter should you need it depending on the master socket, cable is only a 2 core, connected pins 3 and 4, that is the middle as it 4 or 6 pin connector take a close look at both the plugs to see if it looks ok,

Using a different MASTER socket should not be possible, OR or BT when it was done, try hard to avoid having MORE than one master socket in a property, it is not common to have 2 off them but it can and is not detrimental if done that way. Master Socket is normally closest to the incoming line from OR, you may have to try them all unless you are getting mixed up with master and extension sockets. Link below will show routers, and you need to take pictures now of how you connected and post them back.
