Will I need new SIM for iPhone 13?

Hello community,

My first post, I'll keep it short.

I have purcheased an iPhone 13 from the Apple Store.

I have been recommended to request a new SIM to 'get the most up-to-date features'.

Previously I have just used my old SIM in a new phone. Surley this will still be the case?

Thanks all for your assistance.

Hello @russellg2000 ,

Welcome to the community,

This will depend how old your SIM card is. When I upgraded to the new IPad, I had a very old SIM card, which would not work on 5G, but when I upgraded to IPhone 12 Pro Max, I did not need a new SIM card. I am sure that EE will let you know if you need a new SIM card, you can also ask them, whether they think your SIM card will work on 5G, as a new one is not necessarily needed. Hope this answers your question.

Since you purchased the phone from Apple and unless you are in a 5G area, no need to change your plan, but if you want to be able to connect to 5G, then you will have to upgrade your plan and you can then discuss this with customer service and they will advise whether you need a new SIM card.

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using Skype or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.
