I wish to upgrade my phone but pay off a lump sum to reduce the monthly payments. How do I do this?

@Sootycat321 : You can't alter any upfront payment offered on any plan you choose to buy. However you can always make an advance lump sum payment to your EE a/c & it will be held as credit against your future bills.

Hi @Sootycat321
You cannot do that as EE don't offer that service. Any additional payments made will be used to pay your bill.
Thanks

@Sootycat321 The closest you can get to that is to have a tariff that is cheaper but you’ll need to pay more for the device upfront. By doing this you’ll get less data per month as it’s a cheaper tariff, all calls and text are unlimited. I recommend you call customer services to see what they can offer if your willing to pay a lot upfront.

Hi @Sootycat321 ,
To achieve something equivalent to what you want to achieve, it's possible you could upgrade to a SIM-only contract and purchase your own mobile phone separately online (to get a return period) on a credit card (to receive purchase protection for values over about £100).
There are various advantages to buying your own device such as not being locked to a network, or forced to use the service provider firmware (if these apply to your particular choice of device). Good luck! 🤓
