Hi it said I was able to have an early upgrade with no fees. But when I go through the upgrade its saying I have to pay £243 upfront fee. I'm so confused and frustrated

If you upgrade early you normally pay a fee (your remaining contract term) you still need to pay any cost of your new contract like the handset just not the remaining contract term of your old plan, hence free.
