Upgrade delivery

I have an upgrade phone being delivered today but I have no photo id and don't have any contact due to personal reasons with anybody with the same surname?

I contacted 150 this morning and the helpful guy said he doubts they will even ask for it at the moment due to Covid things have changed.

He will probably just put it on the doorstep and take a photo of it and that will be it.

I am now worried I won't get my new phone?

what can I do the guy said all you can do if he does ask is show him what you have got and he mentioned a bank card or utility bill.

What options are open to me. I looked on the EE website and it does say you won't have to sign for anything and deliveries are currently contactless.

Any ideas or suggestions would be gratefully received?

  If anyone at your address has photo ID they can take the delivery for you.     DPD should still request photo ID and they will not just leave it on the doorstep without photo ID being shown.   I don’t know why you got told that at all.      I had to show photo ID back on February when the uk was in lock down.

My wife has a passport but I think it's out of date and the surname will differ. Neither of us has a photo id?

I have an Alcohol license that has my photo on it but an actual id no?

so sounds like I'm kind of screwed then!!

I rang EE back and turns out that it wasn't even registered with the delivery code to have ID checked so delivery came and it was just handed to my wife no id needed. This person I spoke to explained that unless it's made clear that id will be required at the time of purchase you should be ok.

Thanks for everyone's input but the new phone is here and I'm delighted with it.

As this is an upgrade you won't need ID, so you should get the phone no problem.
