My Father in Law has recently passed away and has left me his iPhone 12, however, this is locked to EE and under 6 months old. Do I still have to wait for the 6 month period to end to get the phone unlocked?

Sorry to hear of your loss.
Yes, EE won't unlock devices under 6 months old while they still legally own it.

Thanks for the quick reply and your condolences.
This is utterly bizarre as the person who owns the phone is no longer with us. Surely they need to take into account the circumstances? 😞

The buyer did not own the device yet. They had not paid much of its price. EE deems it 6 months before they hand over legal ownership.
