Unable to use Apple Music smart benefit, subscription already in use!

Hi, I’m trying to use my Apple Music benefit as I’m recording the message “This subscription is already being used with a different Apple ID” I only have the one Apple ID. I had a paid subscription which was cancelled earlier this year.

 

I have only just upgraded my phone over the weekend.

@smfacer  You’ll need to call customer services about this.  They should be able to reset this for you.   Your now terminated Apple subscription it’s not effecting this it’s something else.  

 

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

OK, just called EE customer service and was told that as far as they can tell everything is set up on EE's end and to call apple support...

 

Called apple support and was told there is no current subscription, but a previous subscription for 6 months (previous EE special offer), which I cancelled is still open!

 

and as there is no current subscription showing on their system, there is nothing to unlink!

 

going to take a while I think
