Text asking switch off phone

kvstevens1

Hi

Just received a text from EE asking to switch off phone and restart to get updated network settings.
Can’t tell if it’s a safe message or scam?
no links in text but can’t see any number detail.

Your probably only going to get this Text from EE for a few reasons, if you have reinserted your SIM or have Registered for Network updats in your Area.

Either way if there are no links in the text it's probably safe to assume it is from EE, you going to have to restart your phone at some point anyway so it's your call really, if you are concerned then do a back up of your phone before doing s Restart.

It's quite a normal instruction msg.

Hi @kvstevens1

This is an an entirely normal message which EE send out from time-to-time, if a change has perhaps been made to some network or account-level config which requires a device restart to complete.

Restarting your phone is also completely safe.
