Hi, I have a contract with EE and have just signed up a new contact with a different provider. I would like to keep my EE number on new provider’s phone and leave the old phone for my daughter so to put it in simple words I have two mobiles from two different networks and would like to swap the numbers. I would really appreciate if you let me know is that possible and would there be any fees for doing so. Thanks!

Why don't you just put the EE SIM in the other network's phone if it's unlocked & v.v.?

Thanks for replying. I’m not sure is the new phone going to be unlocked to any network, I’m assuming it is not going to, am I right?
I have already requested my old number to be transferred to the new phone and I’m wondering now is this going to complicate things in case I decided just to keep the numbers as they are without swapping the SIM cards? It looks like keeping the numbers is the easiest option but I’m dreading the fact that I’ll have to notify so many places about the change of number, I’ve had it for 15 years….

If you port your EE no. to the new network's new phone the unwanted consequences will be:
