Can I purchase a new pay as you go SIM card for my old iPhone? My daughter is using it with just WiFi but I’d like to get her a number. I don’t want to be restricted to topping up each month so just need a sim. Any advice please? Thanks

@JH80 You most certainly can. If you don’t want to use pack each month once you get a sim Andres activate in the device just text STOP PACK to 150 it’ll then be a traditional PAYG where your credit is for calls/text only. To have data you’ll need to purchase a data bundle and these last 30 days.

Hi @JH80
As long as the iPhone can connect to EE (wasn't locked to say Vodafone) then this will work just fine with a PAYG sim from EE. You can pick one up from any EE store, supermarket, or here.
Then if you want to revert this to a traditional PAYG service (not use or subscribe to any packs) you can text STOP PACK to 150.
Thanks

Thank you. Can I get something that lasts longer than 30 days? I really just want access to WhatsApp etc for her.
do you know how the free sim pack works?
Thanks

@JH80 No pack or bundle last longer than 30 days and if you want it just for data you can purchase a data only sim. Just remember calls/text will come from any credit on the account. A pre load data only sim can be anything from 6GB of data for 3 months and the allowance is 2 GB per month. You’ll find these on eBay, I’ve just had a look and Ive found the very product I just mentioned HERE. the only problem you face is is that enough data per month or will you need more ?

Thank you.
not really looking for much data either. Just ability to have a phone number to use WhatsApp For its free video call function. Mostly when connected to home WiFi.
thanks.
