Samsung watch 1 and 3 E Sim

I was told on the phone today that it is impossible to have esim activated on a galaxy 3 watch unless you buy the watch on contract through ee. Is this correct? As I’ve seen people on here say you can get a galaxy 1 watch set up if bought from a third party but you need a we phone contract to pair it with? I was also told on the phone that only third party Apple watches can be activated with an esim and not Samsung watches that are third party. If so I feel abit miffed as I cancelled my pre order for buying outright to start a £28 a month contract through ee to get the galaxy watch 3 as I was told it’s the only way to use the cellular service. Thanks

@Tang5204   You can get the watch from any seller it doesn’t have to be from EE you’ve been misinformed.   The only thing you need on is EE contract that can be sim only or a full device contract.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Wow. He was adamant that it cannot be done and I’ve had to start a 24 month contract! I can still cancel this right?!

Hi @Tang5204

Thanks for coming to the community.

Have you ordered a Samsung Watch?

Do you have an existing EE contract and a Samsung phone?

I am going through a similar problem, I have a galaxy watch 4g which I bought third party. It will not connect to cellular service via the wearable app on my galaxy s9. Been through level 1 and 2 tech support lol. Now gone to next level with a ticket reference number(will call you back within 3 days of ticket being issued) apparently!!!. That was Sunday just gone. Since that time spoken to previous owner of the watch who has spoken to his carrier which is Vodafone, they have told him to give ee a 20 digit number which unlocks the original carrier to your chosen one(ee). I have rang them today, given them the number and with baited breath waiting for them to ring me back with a answer. Hopefully good. By the way you can purchase a £7 a month unlimited data plan to run along side your phone contract. You cannot share your phone data to your watch. Hope this helps in some kind of way.
