Re: Phone keeps saying NO SIM

Hi, I've just followed the link you provided to order a new sim card.

To order one is easy enough, but why should I have to pay £1.50 for you to post it to me??

Hi @Emmabee

Welcome to the community.

What was the problem with your previous SIM card?

Chris

Hi Chris,

Apologies for the delay on replying.

Some days it happens more frequently than others, but the message says 'no sim card inserted'.

I am then unable to make or receive telephone calls or text messages. I find that if I restart my phone it sometimes stops the problem, although there are times when I have to turn the power off and leave it for 15-30 minutes.

It's very frustrating and it concerns me that I may need to use my phone urgently and this will happen, leaving me basically without a phone until I have either restarted it (sometimes several times), or shut it down completely.

There are also times when I am not aware that someone is trying to contact me, because the sim card stops working without my knowledge. I only find out if someone contacts me via my landline or emails me, which is extremely irritating!

Apologies once more for the delayed reply, and also the lengthy answer to your question! 🙂

I am due an upgrade within a couple of months and am seriously considering changing to another provider, as I'm getting a little fed up for paying for a service that I am unable to use! 😬😊

Hello @Emmabee

Thanks for getting back to us.

Has your replacement SIM arrived?

If yes, has the problem now been resolved?

How often would this last once the 'No SIM' message appears?

Speak soon,

Katie 🙂

Hi Katie,

I haven't received a replacement sim, as when I logged into my EE account to order a replacement, it said that I would be charged £1.50 for the sim or postage, or both.

I kind of resent having to pay for a new sim when the one I have now has never been taken out of my phone since I had it approx 18 (ish) months ago.

Once the message appears I can't use my phone for calls or texts until I either restart or shut down my phone - obviously not ideal when trying to make an important call or waiting for one!

Thanks for your reply 🙂

Em

If it's more convenient, you could book an appointment in-store and get a free SIM card, @Emmabee.

Or speak to our Mobile Care team to see what they can do.

Chris

I'm currently waiting to have a hip replacement. So no walking any distances at the moment I'm afraid - plus I live in Cornwall and the nearest shop for me would probably be at least half an hour away.

I just don't understand why EE can't just send me a replacement sim?

Thanks for your help anyway though Chris 🙂
