Re: Is there a limit to data gifting?

Hi @Christopher_G

I know this thread is some months old now but I wondered if you might be able to help?

So new the the family plans (couple of months in), and I have myself and then two others who joined my plan (I'm on a 100GB a month currently plan).  I will be adding 2 others shortly so this will take us to 5 in total on the family plan (including myself).

Probably a daft question but I just want to make sure I have this correct before making the decision.

I'm thinking of upgrading to the unlimited data plan and just wanted to confirm that I understand correctly:

  • I would be able to gift up to a maximum of 100GB/120GB(on 5G plan).  I'm assuming this is each month?
  • This is 100GB/120GB divided between the other 4 people on the contract per month/year?
  • If I gift more than that a month for 3 months in a row then it's limited/EE gets in contact?

Thanks in advance.

  • This is 100GB/120GB divided between the other 4 people on the contract per month/year? Per billing month.
  • If I gift more than that a month for 3 months in a row then it's limited/EE gets in contact? You can't! It won't let you. Any FUP applies to your total usage per month incl. gifting.

OK, it's typical I search and search and can't find anything - then post something and click on one or two links deeper into posts and find what I need.

So if this is correct it's recommended to dish out the 100/120GB of data as soon as the new month comes in to all the other plans on my contract.  Otherwise if I start using the data myself it reduces from the first 100/120GB of giftable data.

As I thought (I know daft initial question) this is on a monthly basis.

Thanks!

Amazing!  Thank you @XRaySpeX that confirmed what I thought but had to double-check beforehand!

Thanks again!
